Your photos never cease to amaze me. How did you spot the Nightjar since it was getting so dark?

Thank you kindly, Hien. Nightjars are in the habit of sitting right in the road after dark, this one though didn’t fly away as they usually do when caught in a spotlight.

You found a nightjar! Well spotted!!!!! As for the golden-orb spider web: I inadvertently walked into a large web that is string across our front path – fortunately way below the spider itself. Will have to try and photograph it in better light tomorrow. You have seen a chameleon too! It gives me great joy seeing all these lovely photographs, Dries.
