Happy New Year to all our friends here at de Wets Wild! We hope that 2018 has lots of opportunities to explore the outdoors, for you as well as for us!
We have just arrived back home safely after another epic summer holiday in South Africa’s wild places. All in all we were away from home for 24 nights and traveled a total of 5,550km, exploring eight of this beautiful country’s National Parks.

The route for our epic December 2017 holidays
Of course we came back with literally thousands of photos, which we’ll be sharing here in the coming weeks. We tried to post a daily update as we went along – here’s a quick recap.

Epic, and your log and photos Dries are a fabulous show of the diversity in these national parks. Aren’t we lucky have protected environments where fauna and flora flourish.

Thanks so much! Need to find the time to share some of my adventures. Re planning, we’re still contemplating where to go exactly – all options are open, but it’s probably not going to be the Kruger this time.

Wholly! That’s a pretty long trip! We’d have to travel up and down our Island 12 times! or my house to Montreal, Quebec! Bet you were glad to get into your own beds when you got home?!

Luckily we did it in small chunks, so we never got tired of the drive, Teresa. And it was with some pretty mixed feelings that we arrived back home. I don’t think we’re really made for city life…
