The Marakele National Park, and the Waterberg Mountains it protects, is a beautiful place.

Plectranthus hereroensis – the Herero Spur Flower – thrives on the rocky slopes of the Waterberg at Marakele’s Lenong Viewpoint
I suspect this is the blooms of a type of Senecio
Traveling on the plains below the Waterberg reveals a very different community of plants

You’ll not be sorry, Anne. A little tip from people who found out the hard way: If you’re going to camp at Bontle like we did, best to invest in a couple of very realistic rubber snakes to keep the monkeys at bay.

Oooo, nou mis ek Potgietersrus, Sterkrivier, selfs Tolwe.

What a beautiful place! Some of those flowers look similar to things here, but I’m not conversant enough with what they’re called to know if they’re the same.
