Today we moved camps to Cape Vidal, another of the overnight options in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Cape Vidal is located on the Indian Ocean coast, on a stretch of land wedged between Lake St.Lucia and the sea and surrounded by forests, wetlands and grasslands.

Superb! The elephant photos really capture the feeling. I felt a pang seeing the beach – it is so beautiful.

I don’t think I have ever been on a beach more beautiful than Cape Vidal’s. It feels like paradise with the forest reaching right to the sands of the beach.

It is wonderful. Lovely to sit on the high dunes at dusk and look out over the ocean.

Some very exciting moments to be had when you combine a big elephant herd with dense forest vegetation!

Most of the big guys are there! Are the elephants walking on the road? . Thank you, D. and Joubert. Great post, my friends. 🙂

Thanks, H.J. Indeed, the elephants are walking along the road – it is something they do very often in all the reserves where they occur. Much easier for them to get around that way too!

O my aarde, maar dis mooi daar!

Compared to us he was! But not compared to some of the other members of his herd.
