Summertide Diary: Elephant Processions at Addo

One of the most wonderful experiences one could hope to have in the Addo Elephant National Park is to sit at a waterhole while a herd of elephants arrive, often passing so close to your vehicle that it will take your breath away.

You have really captured the majesty of those elephant processions. I thoroughly enjoyed your series and photos recording your visit to Addo. Sorry I am really behind in my blog reading, but its nice to be able to review each day of your visit in one sitting!

SO massive! I’m trying to just imagine what it must have been like to be there in person! And …. to imagine the sound of their ponderous feet all at once! Just wonderful of you to share them with us all.

It was amazing, and something you really must come experience for yourself if you ever get the chance. You’ll be interested to know that elephants’ feet are cushioned and when they’re just walking casually their steps does not make any more noticeable a noise than a human’s do!

When I find the genie’s lamp I am definitely going to wish that you come visit Addo Elephant National Park, Lois. You’ll be in seventh heaven surrounded by elephants, I am sure.
