It’s school holidays again in South Africa, and we’ve arrived at beautiful uMkhuze Game Reserve – our first stop on a planned two-week tour through the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park.

Looks an incredible adventure. A bit too far away for us but at least you bring us close to this wonderful place with all its creatures.
Such a special destination and we’re glad to be able to share uMkhuze’s wonders with all our friends here
Ah lovely uMkhuze! You and Joubert have some stunning captures here – a lovely collection.
Thanks, Carol!
I know you are also a great fan of the gem that is uMkhuze!
Indeed it is a gem.
What a gorgeous panoply of images. Especially love the giraffe in silhouette…
Thanks Lori!
Very nice animals, great captures, D, and Joubert. Thank you! 🙂
Thank you very much, H.J!
These photos were all just delightful. What a lovely place that it! I like the Nyala couple but then I like all the shots. You got a couple of animals looking directly at you/the camera which is always fun.
Thanks, Janet! This is such a special place, the photo’s are just a slice of what’s on offer!
I understand but what a delicious slice. 😁
Is that zebra smiling at you?! I do believe he is. Joubert–the photo with the bath water splashing is wonderful! Such a great capture. Looks like the holiday is off to a great start. Have fun!
Thank you very much, Lois. I’m sure Joubert’s going to have plenty of winning photographs by the end of this holiday.
Ek weet die twee parke het baie verander vandat ek laas daar was in 1980 tigs. Hul was my mees geliefde wildtuine. Dankie vir mooi fotos.
Albei nogsteeds baie spesiale bestemmings, Ineke
It is years since we were last here! I recall camping in a two-man tent in uMkhuze more years ago than I can count in the pouring rain that never let up. There was a river running under our groundsheet, yet we remained dry. That has always been a special place for me and so I have LOVED seeing these photographs!
uMkhuze really is a special place, Anne. We can’t believe that five years have passed since our last visit here! We’ve never camped here though, definitely looks like it could be fun though!
