Anyone willing to share the Wild Waters of the Sabie River with this Nile Crocodile?
Come on – just look how much fun she’s having!?

Great series of photos and what an amazing thing to see! We have also seen crocs waiting below rapids for catches, but we have never seen one shooting a rapid. This croc looks quite practiced at it!
I don’t know why, but I always imagined they’d walk around such hurdles. I would’ve loved to see what maneuvers she’d use to go the other way.
It would be interesting to see one going up stream. They can curve their tails and use them as a kind of spring to launch them out of the water to catch prey. I wonder if they can use similar techniques to leap up rapids!
Now that would be incredible to see!!!
Oulike akkedissie daai! 🙂
Vet pret inni water! 😁
Hulle hou nie van deel nie!
Dis nou hoogs interessant…dalk is sy besig om te probeer gewig verloor met al die oefening!
Maak dat ek twee keer sal dink oor vlotvaart by Vic-valle!
Beslis!
I’ve been loading pages when on line and then reading at home.. This series of images gave me a great smile.. loved them all, and i am reminded to keep watch for ‘gators/crocs’ depending on if i’m in the southern usa or in south america!
i’ve been wanting to create a paper mache creature – perhaps a croc would be fun!
Wow, Lisa – I’m glad and very proud that we could give your muse a little help!
Looks like she was having fun! 🐊
Who knew crocodiles had an adventurous side!? 😉
Pretty….but I’ll pass!
Best choice you’ll make all day, Kathy! 😀
Whoa! Scary, I think. 😁
Definitely Irene!
Wow, dis ongelooflik om dit te sien!
Delightful shots – again, it is the action that stands out. It must have been fun to watch.
We didn’t think that the crocodile would actually take the plunge, and yet she did it quite gracefully!
Al is hulle hoè vreesaanjaend, ń krokodil bly fassinerend.
Ons stem heelhartig saam, Una! Vreesaanjaend en tegelykertyd “mesmerising”!
I’m sure those park rides must be free! The croc looks well fed!
Great shots, D, 🙂
😀
Thanks, H.J!
wow that croc didn’t mind the rapids, I won’t be getting in there lol
We’ve often seen them lying below the rapids waiting for a hapless fish to come flowing into their open mouths, but have never seen a crocodile white-water rafting before!
That is sure somwthing special
Great captures, Dries. That really was a wild ride. 😅
Thank you very much, Sylvia!
impressive
Agreed Gavin! Probably not an uncommon habit, but not something we’ve seen before.
Oh my….
Not something we see every day!
Wow 😳😊😊😊
Such a surprizing sight!
