Overlooked

This caracal was hiding next to the road in the Oribi Gorge, in Kwazulu-Natal Province – had it’s eyes not reflected in our headlights as we rounded a bend, it would have gone totally unnoticed.

Great capture Dries. Strangely my domestic cats eyes reflect the same way when photographed at night. This is so cool though. I’ve never seen on in the bush. Hope you guys are having a great day.

      Thank you very much Joey!

Yep, its as if their eyes have little fires burning inside isn’t it!

We had a lovely sunny day today – hope you and Marks also have a good one!

Grey, rainy and windy here for the past couple of days but we’re not complaining. The plants are enjoying the rain. Wishing you a beautiful weekend. Time sure is flying these days.

Thanks killaval. We’ve only seen caracal 4 or 5 times in all the years – hard to imagine that they are considered pests by many in the farming community for causing small stock losses, but then that just proves how excellent they are at hiding!
