It is the winter school holidays in South Africa and we spent the last five days in the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, where the authorities go to great lengths to ensure visitors enjoy the Park safely and responsibly. Naturally, we’ll be telling you all about our visit in upcoming editions of de Wets Wild.
“Symbol” is the theme for this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge.

I liked the elephant tipping the car too. It reminded me of being on safari in the Serengeti. When mommy elephant started to give us the stink-eye, our driver decided it was time to make a quick departure. I was grateful for his awareness.

And a warning visitors really should pay attention to Lois, as elephants do from time to time tip over cars in our Parks when people venture too close and ignore their warnings, often resulting in serious injury to themselves.

Really good advice on that notice board.

Such a pity many visitors simply don’t heed the signs and then spoil their visits for themselves.

Oh I wish I was there, we had our first game drive at Hluhluwe-Imfolozi last year. It was a day we will never forget. Looking forward to visiting your beautiful country again.
