Tracks in the sand bear witness that these pools in the Shingwedzi River are a magnet for animals in the northern Kruger National Park

“Converge” is the theme for this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge

Spore in die sand – most intriguing – proof that life has passed that way.
I agree wholeheartedly! Stories written in the sand.
Good to see your Afrikaans is alive and well Dendymactoodle 😉
Mooi foto. Spore in die sand is vir my altyd baie nostalgies. Dan wonder ek of ek iets gemis het? …
Net soos jy daar se Spokie, dit sit sommer n mens se verbeelding op loop.
Very interesting and unique!
Thank you! Lovely to have you visit with us again!
How’s the voting going? I voted again, I hope it helps! Also voted with a few of my other addresses. Lekker skelm!! 😉
(I suggested to the organisers of the awards to have a Expat category as well… maybe next year we can vote for each other!!) 😛
Unfortunately there’s no way to gauge how the voting’s going AJ – I can only see how many clicks went from our blog to the awards site. Voting’s open until 31 December though, so here’s holding thumbs 😉
THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT!
Do repeat votes work?
The way I understand the rules AJ, they count only the last vote in any category from any specific e-mail address. So, if you use the same address to vote for us repeatedly, it should still count as only 1 vote. And, if you were to vote for another blog in the same category later on, your vote will switch from our blog to the other.
Don’t fear… I won’t be voting for other blogs!! I may just pass on the link in the week… let’s hope we can get more folk voting!!
I can only thank you again AJ!

Beautiful shot…:)
Thank you Suyash!
This is a great one – talk about following the beaten path!
Absolutely Ideflex. Reminds me of human’s daily commute to work and back. Thanks for visiting!
I’m glad Vonn Scott Bair inquired about the tracks… How fascinating!!! I’ve never officially tracked animals before and enjoyed learning a new word – spoor.
Learning to recognise the different tracks, and interpreting the animal’s behaviour from it, adds a fascinating dimension to one’s enjoyment of the outdoors, Jane.
And I’m glad we could add a new Afrikaans word to your vocabulary 😉

You’d get wonderful shots from the air, Q!

What an enjoyable choice! I went with an animal photo this week, but a bit different from your usual. Enjoy the weekend!
janet
Glad you liked it Janet!
I loved your entry, the big gorilla so bored with his little human admirers 😉
Good Afternoon: Imaginative interpretation! Any idea which animals made which tracks? Vonn Scott Bair
Thank you very much Vonn Scott Bair.
Visible on this photo is mostly elephant, buffalo and hippopotamus tracks; you’d have to enlarge it quite a bit to clearly see the much smaller hoofprints of the antelope, which shows up just as hundreds of little dots among the bigger animals’ spoor on this picture.
