Happy New Year, everyone!
We’ve resumed our summer travels through the national parks and reserves of the Western and Eastern Cape and find ourselves at the Addo Elephant National Park this evening. In the little time we’ve spent here already today the Park has certainly lived up to its name!

What a fantastic experience!
Elephants are my favourite animals so Addo is a wonderful destination for me!
Its so cool to see these animals out and about!
An amazing privilege indeed!
You are in my part of the world! Addo is a favourite getaway – even for a day.
I am rather jealous of you living so close to Addo that you can make a day trip of it, Anne! Though I must say the fact that overnight visitors have first access to the game viewing area is a big plus for staying inside the reserve. In December the “inside” gates opened 1h30 before the day visitors could get access.
Quite the photo of the elephant and the warthog! But the mama and baby elephant…❤️
I knew this was the part of our journey you’d enjoy the most, Lois! You should come and visit us, I’d love to take you to Addo to see these beautiful animals in real life and as wild and free as they ought to be.
You know I would absolutely love to, Dries!
