The iSimangaliso Wetland Park is home to several hundred African Buffaloes, and they’re especially numerous in the Eastern Shores section of the reserve. They’re such powerful beasts with a well deserved reputation for a dangerous disposition, and it is always exciting to see them at close quarters.
Remember that DeWetsWild will gladly assist you with reservations and guided tours of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park if you’d like to visit this wonderful place as well.
Pragtige foto’s en video van die buffel. Hulle lyk altyd so rustig, maar tog is dit ook nie ‘n dier wat ek sommer sal wil tromp-op loop nie 🙂.

Defnitief nie! Ek is al meer by iSimangaliso deur buffels stormgeloop as in enige ander plek. Mens moet hulle beslis nie onderskat nie, al lyk hulle hoe kalm.

Buffalo are a delight to see at any time. With so many in this post, I am reminded of an enormous herd of well over 200 that we chanced upon in Addo – a one-off sighting.

That is a most unusual sighting in Addo, Anne!

It was near Arizona.

I wonder if the fact that the area thereabouts is more open had anything to do with them congregating in such a large herd?

It might have been so. We seldom actually go there.

We also do not use that route that bisects the Park all that often – people seem to travel very fast on it, making it rather dangerous to stop and take pictures.
