Another breakaway to iSimangaliso

If you thought I was a little quiet over the past week-and-a-bit, you’d be right, as I disappeared into the wonderful iSimangaliso Wetland Park again, this time along with my younger brother. We were based in the holiday town of St. Lucia from where we made excursions into the surrounding sections of the park, and had a wonderful time, collecting lots of pictures to share with you in the weeks to come – this is just a little teaser.

It’s one thing seeing pratincoles, Narina togons, and of all things a Buff spotted flufftail, but to get such superb photos is another thing all together. Impressive. I must must must get up there again.

iSimangaliso just never disappoints! On this trip I managed to find 5 “lifers”, taking my tally of birds seen in South Africa to exactly 600. The new ones were the Green Malkoha, Buff-spotted Flufftail, White-backed Duck, Brown-throated Weaver and Holub’s Golden Weaver.

Daar was derduisende krappe op die strand sover as wat mens kon sien, Aletta. Ek het nog n foto wat ek deur die maand sal deel daarvan – dit was verstommend!
