We made it safely back to Pretoria and I think before anyone noticed we were missing. We enjoyed a glorious morning in the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, bringing to a close a wonderful, if whistle-stop, visit to one of our favourite destinations.

You have several sunrise-lit images here that are just beautiful.
Thank you very much, PJB. You’ll know the magic of an African sunrise.
Wow, just wow! What beautiful photos… 🙂
Thank you, Lori. Easy to get good photos in a place this beautiful.
Just what I needed today, Dries. Thank you..
Glad we could brighten your day, Tracy. I hope the new day’s treating you better?
It is indeed, Dries. Thank you.
I’m happy to hear that, Tracy.
Pragtige foto’s en plek !
Dankie, Aletta! Golden Gate is n besonderse plek.
Dis waar!
Blesboks are my new favorite, along with kudu. Kudus? Is kudu like moose, both singular and plural? But I digress. Love the scenery and it would be easy to miss those zebras. Nice shot of the wildebeest, Joubert.

The wildlife can easily get “lost” in scenery this grand, Janet, especially as many wear their camouflage so well.
And kudus is the correct plural for those beautiful antelope.
Happy birthday, again!
Thanks, again. 🙂
I always enjoy seeing your continent’s unique wildlife. I am taking to calling your post my virtual safaris.
We love having you along as we explore our country’s wild places, John!
Plenty of open fields to roam around, free to run with the best runners. Lovely settings. Thank you, D. 🙂
You just need well-conditioned lungs to run at these high altitudes, H.J! For a lover of the great outdoors and wide open spaces, Golden Gate is heaven.
Many thanks for sharing, Dries, this beautiful piece of paradise – great pictures too!
Baie dankie, Joep. Golden Gate really is a very special corner of our country.
