This morning we spent a while taking in the most serene views from atop the Kwasheleni Tower here in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, from where you can see the Indian Ocean to the east, Lake Saint Lucia in the west, and the wild forests and grasslands teaming with wildlife in between.

It amuses me to be sitting somewhere where I can count the number of plants I can see and then look at your photos of so many it would be difficult to count even a small section of them. Of course I’m in a suburb, not out in the desert where there are quite a lot more plants but not green or this many. Neither is better or worse, but they’re certainly different!

The desert certainly has a very special charm of its own, Janet, and those hardy plants are often spectacularly beautiful!
Dis pragtig Dries!
You are going to keep us enthralled for months with your photographs from your summer holidays. I am looking forward to them.
Thank you very much, Anne. We really had a special time!
Pragtig
Absoluut asemrowend, Ineke.
Baie oulik.

Wonderlik! Dankie vir die deel, Ineke!
