As the sun sets this evening we’re enjoying the serenity of the next destination of our 2020 summertide ramble: Nature’s Valley in the Garden Route National Park. From our chalet we have a beautiful view of the Groot River and the Tsitsikamma forest and mountains beyond – who could ask for more?

It looks wonderful and a most restorative place to spend some time.
We fell in live with Nature’s Valley’s forests, even if the rainy weather curtailed our explorations – ample reason to return!
Hoe pragtig lyk daardie amberkleurige water.
Diep en stil en rustig, Tannie Frannie!
You won’t want to leave, Dries.
That’s usually the case, Tracy, and the main reason why we have all our trips booked a year or more in advance so that we have something to console us when the inevitable departure happens. Which made 2020 even more terrible for us as one trip after the other had to be cancelled or postponed…
Ons land bly pragtig, de Wet!
Ons gaan defnitief nie met jou stry daaroor nie, Una! Was julle al weg?
There is little more to ask for – and you already have your family together – so enjoy those beautiful surroundings and store up the wonderful experiences to remember when the year turns into the unknown, and the unexpected – you will always have this glorious time to look back on!
That is so true, Anne, and we certainly needed to replenish our stocks for however long this situation continues.
Ho has the pandemic affected your life in Africa? How wonderful it is to live by the river!
Sadly South Africa’s one of the worst hit countries in the world Rudi and we’re currently in the midst of a “second wave”, resulting in the government imposing bans and restrictions on a number of things South Africans previously took for granted at this time of year.
Dis baie soos dit hier lyk met die rivier, die heuwels/berge groen en begroei met bome en plante.
Ek glo New Zealand se landskappe staan regtig onder die mooistes in die wereld, Ineke?
Dit is beslis so.
Very pleasant place, near a river, lots of vegetation. I like it. Thank you, D. 🙂
Certainly one of those paradises we all dream about, H.J.
I’m a little jealous of your wonderful weather! Here it is winter, but above freezing and rain … Around 5-8°C every day, but feels like -10!
Together with our scenery, wildlife and people I think our weather is a great drawcard, John. I hope when the world returns to a more normal way of life you’ll resume your planning to come visit South Africa.
It’s certainly a view you could spend a long time enjoying.
janet
We would’ve loved to be here much, much longer, Janet!
