The Shingwedzi and Mphongolo Rivers that drain this part of Kruger seldom flow continuously above ground, Tracy, and with it now being our dry season these are fairly standard scenes for this part of the world. The sandy riverbeds still has lots of underground water and the elephants are great at digging wells to get to it even when the situation looks much worse than this.
Sjoe, dis besonders!
Sjoe, wat ek nie sou gee om elke dag so te eindig nie…
Would you expect there to be water in the river at this time of year, Dries?

Thank you for the information, Dries. The elephant mind and initiative are wonderful things.
Can almost imagine the scent of dust and veld, the light is magical. So dry though.
The last hour of daylight every day is so magical now with the red dust hanging in the air when the herds move. Soul stirring stuff!
nice share
Glad you like it!
What a fantastic scene: Kruger does it again!
Best place on earth for sure!
Lyk baie droog
Dis maar die gewone winter uitkyk hier, Tina. Wanneer dit regtig droogte is hier sien jy niks groen nerens nie.
Asemrowend!
Gewis, Petru!
