We spent the past weekend with good friends in and around the Loskop Dam Nature Reserve, taking in the peaceful atmosphere, spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife. Here’s a gallery showing some of what we saw and experienced – if you’d like to know more about Loskop Dam and the general area, have a read here.

great photo’s! absolutely love wildlife shots!
Thank you so much! Welcome here!
Ek glo as jy vandag weer daar ry gaan jy nogsteeds so voel, Ineke. Dis n pragtige landsdeel!
Die paar fotos v d dam lyk nog dieselfde. Ek is net bly daar is nog steeds water in die dam.
Looks like the rains arrived! Beautiful!
PS – Thanks for the butterflies!! 😉
Indeed, the central, eastern and northern parts of the country have received good rains, AJ. But the western and southern regions are still in the drought’s firm grip…
Sjoe – pragtige plek! Skerp fotos.
Dankie Spokie! Die Loskop omgewing is gewis n pragtige wereld.
I love the first photo featured at the top. It looks like you caught him landing from a leap?
… and of course, the wonderful Kingfishers always make me smile with their very large beaks compared to their body 🙂
That’s right Joanne – shutter clicked just at the moment the bushbuck ewe landed on the road. I love the sound of the Woodland Kingfisher especially – they only visit us in summer.
It was one of those great shots that you’re lucky to land perfect timing (pun intended 😉 )
Thanks Joanne!
What an impressive variety of wildlife!
Absolutely, and the photos give only a glimpse of the diversity to be found in the Loskop area!
Such a great capture of the bushbuck ewe!
Thanks very much, Lois!
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for visiting Loskop with us!
Looks like a grand weekend. Thanks for letting me tag along.

Always fun for me, too.
