South Africa celebrates 24th September as Heritage Day, and of course the de Wets will use that opportunity to revel in our country’s diverse natural heritage. We’ve made a long weekend of it, and find ourselves back at beautiful Ithala Game Reserve, where this laid-back plains zebra‘s expression sums up perfectly our own relaxed mood.

This picture is adorable.
Thank you Sonya!
Die sebras maak darm maar mooi fotos! Pragtig.
Ek stem heelhartig saam Spokie; sebras is uiters fotogenies!
Pragtige foto!
En weer baie dankie Dina!
What a sweet way of showing how relaxed you are during the lang week end!
A long weekend can be so soothing for the soul!
And how. Just being away from home and out in nature refreshes body and soul.
So pragtig!
Baie dankie Aletta!
Got to have someone to lean on! 🙂
So true! And not a bad song to have stuck in my head now 😉
Beautiful portrait!
Thank you Alison!
Okay – that picture definitely made me smile! 🙂
Nice of you to say, thanks Kathy!

Thanks Maralee!
Stunning image of the zebra.
Thanks a lot, Tim!
You’re welcome
I do love that zebra’s expression, and particularly the aptness of the term ‘laid (on) back’ which comes just after the mane thing there!
Trust you to pick up an unintended pun, Colonialist! You’re a wordsmith with few equals!
So sweet.
Thank you!
