The Witpoortjie Falls, in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden, where we spent several hours today enjoying the scenic surroundings, soaring eagles and the company of wonderful friends.

“Angular” is the theme for this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge

LOL, I meant to type “my Afrikaans is nie te sleg nie” but typed Engels instead. My husband is Afrikaans speaking – van Pretoria af, well first Cape town and then Pretoria 🙂 (“Die Taal bietjie to gooi”, love it! Apparently my five year old level Afrikaans is very cute, but wouldn’t be able to hold a full conversation – I am very bad at languages in general!)
I’m sure it’s not half as bad as you think Vonita!
Yay, now you are taking me back to my home town, I used to live just on the other side of the ridge! (Helderkruin / wilropark area). Used to love stalking the eagles, especially when they were feeding their chicks 🙂
We’ll be dedicating a special post to the gardens soon Vonita, and I’m sure that’ll bring you many more happy memories. We saw the two adult eagles, and their grown-up chick, performing spectacularly over the Roodekrans next to the waterfall. Amazing!
Thank you so much, that will be lovely, we used to go there often 🙂 Just sad about all the encroachment around the area. But good to hear the eagles are still there and breeding!
Sjoe – pragtig. Niks so lekker dan koel bruisende bergwater in ‘n hemelse omgewing! En natuurlik die regte vriende, wat net soos mensself nooit genoeg kan drink van die veld nie …
Daar slaan jy die spyker op die kop Spokie. Mens moet jou vriende fyn uitkies 😉
Sjoe dis ‘n mooi foto
Baie dankie Tina 😀
Ok… you have my permission to “be at a loss” any time you please, if it means finding amazing Nature shots like this one! Very stunning, and extremely angular! ❤
Jane
You’re doing my confidence the world of good Jane, thank you!
Perfect for the angular! Great shot.
Thank you Amy!
Pragtig en rustig ook!
Absoluut Ineke. Ek was verbaas hoe rustig die tuin se atmosfeer was, want hier teen die middag was daar nogal baie mense wat dit kom geniet het!
Lekker man.:D
Lotta angles in that frame, alright, Dries !! – and how beautiful !!!!
I was actually at a lost what to post for this week’s challenge, Margaret-Rose, until I saw the waterfall yesterday 😉
Oh, I think you must ALWAYS find something in your photographic files: and how wonderful is it to wander through them …?
I must admit to getting lost in all the happy memories when I go through all our old photos Margaret-Rose 😉
That looks a great place to spend time with friends.
I can see us returning many times in the future, Joan
So beautiful and serene!
That it is Aletta, especially in the early morning
Beautiful.
