Uitsonderlike foto! Dankie vir die deel. Ek het die afrikaanse woord opgekyk: ” Kalkoenibis.” Nogals mooi. Maar ja, hulle kom nie hier in die Limpopo voor nie. Lucky you!
Baie gelukkig, dankie Spokie! Hoe ver is Graskop se wereld van julle af? Ons het die kalkoenibisse al voorheen daar by Bourke’s Luck raakgeloop – weliswaar nou nie Limpopo nie, maar darem naby!
That was a lucky sighting… I saw them in the Drakensberg, but never got the chance of a photo… so you are very lucky…
Reason enough for you to detour through Golden Gate next time Rob!
I just wrote today about my adventures shooting birds. I have such a new-found respect for how touch it is to get a decent bird shot. NICE SHOT.
Thanks a lot Barbara! I agree with you entirely about how difficult it is to photograph birds, they never sit still! I have huge respect for the photographers who’se images are used in bird guide books, they must be very talented and very patient!
That is a very special site. Great capture!
Thank you Amy! We were very pleased with ourselves for spotting them 😀
Gosh, what an amazing sighting. I have never seen one.
They’re very rare Tish, as their foraging habitat’s mostly been turned over to agriculture outside the protected areas. Sad but such a familiar story.
very good!!!
Always a special sighting Matthias, and at Golden Gate you have a good chance of seeing them
well well well – just one more of the many reasons to get back there soon 😉
I like your way of thinking Matthias!
