f/4
30 second exposure
ISO 6400
18mm focal length
Dankie… dit lyk my omtrent wat ek so nou en dan probeer. Ons het te veel lig besoedeling… 😉
Sulke drome moet waar word!
Wonderful, starry night.
The sheer scale of the night sky at Shingwedzi is overwhelming, no way to capture it in one image sadly…
Thanks for popping in, Cardinal Guzman!
I’m glad that I did. I live in the city and we barely see the stars because of the light pollution. I miss the stars.
Sounds like a good reason for a camping trip 😀
Definitely!
All I can say is…
That photo takes my breath away!!! Thank you for sharing the Universe with us ❤

Thanks for the kind words Jane!
Wait. When were you in Shingwedzi? We were just there Saturday night…
Wow, imagine that Marla! We slept 3 nights in Shingwedzi last week: Thursday 25th to Saturday 27th!
Did you have a good time? We had fantastic sightings – including 5 cheetahs right in the road Saturday afternoon on the S50 😀
We also saw 5 cheetah Saturday on the S50! We watched them for a long time at a turnoff. They mostly slept and eventually got up and went down to get a drink then disappeared into the brush and we lost them. Darn I bet we just missed them crossing!
Shingwedzi was our 3rd night. We stayed Punda Maria, Sirheni, Shingwedzi, then Bateleur. First time in the north but definitely not our last! Excited to see your cheetah photos. Ours were too far away and my zoom only goes to 300 (I almost rented a 500 this trip {sigh}).
We must have passed one another on the road somewhere without even knowing! If you found yourself looking at a very dusty, usually silver, Honda Jazz – that was us inside 😉
I’m glad you had such a nice time in the North of Kruger Marla. Will we be reading about your trip on Traveling Marla soon? I hope so! And don’t worry about those cheetah pics, it’s a useful excuse to get back to Kruger a.s.a.p.
Yeah So Agreed is why i live “way out there also” so i sa can see da night sky “Kewl Shot” there !
And enjoy the fresh clean air, hey Q?
U got Dat right 🙂 ………
only smog up here comes frum my pipe lol……
Dit lyk of mens die sterre kan pluk!Pragtig….ek verlang nou sommer na die stilte en hemelruim sonder ligte.
Een van die dae geniet julle dit daar op Balule 😀
Ek sien baie uit daarna!
That is a seriously beautiful night time sky. Wow! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks a lot Jenny! This kind of brilliant night sky can only be appreciated out in the wild. In the city, even a small town, there’s no chance of seeing it this clear.
Really stunning. Yet another benefit of being out in the wild for a while! :o)
AMAZING!
Thanks Kathryn! Nice to have you visiting with us again.
I always will 🌷
Sans pareil !
Thank you Margaret-Rose 😀
What a terrific and unique contribution…. This is very special.
Thanks very much Eliz!

Now that is definitely being under the stars! WOW! 🙂
Enough reason to spend the entire night out in the open Linda
Oh my, looks like a universe made with Van Gogh’s paintbox. How gorgeous!
Wonderful how many more stars, and colours, the camera picks up on long exposure than our eyes can Tina!
Stunningly beautiful!
Thank you Lori
Stunning photo!
Thank you very much Marcia, and welcome here!
wow…we were in Kruger too yesterday!!!
Wonderful Mia! Which parts of the Park did you visit?
We did the parts from Phabeni to skukuza, lower sabie and all through H4-1. Were lucky with a lot of sightings! How about you guys? Were you staying inside the park?
Glad to hear you had such a good time Mia! Yes, we spent 4 nights in the north of the Park and we’ll share some of our experiences in the coming weeks 😉
so many stars!! What a beautiful sky.
In the almost complete absence of artificial light the sky was brilliant with stars, even to the naked eye!
All I can say is WOW!!
That’s more than enough, thank you!
Beautiful! What a privilege to be able to see a spectacular sight as that!

Indeed Lindy!
