Those people are SO close to the lions. No danger?
As long as they remain inside their vehicles, they should be just fine. Stepping outside could be a big mistake though; suddenly seeing a human so close to them could trigger an attack from the lions (in self-defence, not for food)
Who would even do that??????
You’d be surprised just how many people disregard the rules when visiting our parks and reserves Kathryn, and actually hang out of their cars or even get out, often within pouncing distance of large predators. Some people don’t learn until it is too late, unfortunately.
That is hard to believe. I didn’t know that. I’m sorry.
No reason at all to be sorry Kathryn; by far the majority of visitors are true nature lovers who want to do nothing but admire these beautiful creatures, and the beautiful places they live in, without disturbing them in the least.
I just can’t believed someone would get out of the car next to a lion 🙂

That is SO hard to believe!!! I am actually stunned. Also why do the lions choose the road to lie down? The warmth?
We mostly see them lying in the road during or just after inclement weather; perhaps they dislike the feeling of wet grass on their bodies 😉

Just hanging out in the middle of the road….the animals really don’t have to get out of the way of those tin cans, if they don’t feel like it!

Although you’re much safer in our vehicle when you’re this close to wild animals than you’d be on foot, visitors should still keep a respectful distance from especially the big leviathans like elephants and rhinos, else they might find their vehicle upside down very quickly…
