Gone camping at Pilanesberg

Joubert and I have just returned from  a most enjoyable weekend spent camping in the Pilanesberg National Park with my brother Niel. More about our trip in an upcoming installment of de Wets Wild!

Tonight we’re sharing this picture from our trip, taken at the Mankwe game-viewing hide, yesterday:

Wonderful! This hide looks like not much of a “hide” Does it have another definition or meaning or just the reference ?

A “hide” is a building in which you can sit and watch, and photograph, the animals and birds visiting a waterhole. The hide at Mankwe is much larger than the “normal” hide, which is often well camouflaged, unlike this one. Some hides are even built into the ground and then you can watch the animals passing by from a very interesting vantage point!

Wow, looks like a great encounter guys. The hide reminds me of the one at Sable Dam near Phalaborwa in KPN. We saw Ellie,s there, but not this close! Looking forward seeing more of your recent adventures.
