For this week’s photo challenge, themed “Layers“, we’re taking you back to one of our all time favourite destinations, the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, where the layers of differently coloured sandstone cliffs are the Park’s most recognisable feature.

Millions of years worth of layers!
It takes time to create something beautiful ;-). Thanks for visiting us again Annette!

WONDERFUL! I thought of this but I had no original photos! The story of the earth !
Makes humans seem so small and insignificant in the big scheme of things…

Good Afternoon: Glorious shots. How did you take the pictures and then edit them? Vonn Scott Bair
Thank you for visiting us again, and the kind comment, Vonn Scott Bair. These pictures were taken with little Canon PowerShots (400 and 700) in automatic mode. Pre-publishing editing brightened the subjects and enhanced the contrast, just using the “auto” settings available in PhotoScape.
Beautiful layers – they rock…
Fantastic comment, thank you Ann-Christine!
What layers, what beauty
Beautiful place Ritva, you’d create magic there!
What a nice compliment, for complimenting yours 🙂
