This tranquil sunrise scene was photographed near Skukuza in the Kruger National Park, ironically at a location called Lake Panic due to the large number of crocodiles and other predators and other dangerous animals that lurk in the vicinity. To us, there is no place where we feel more at peace than in the Kruger Park.
We’re participating in the online adventure travel magazine LetsBeWild.com‘s Wild Weekly Photo Challenge for bloggers. This week’s challenge was “Peaceful” and we’re very happy to have been awarded another honorable mention for our entry!

Vrede in die bos!! Tog the lekker!! 😉
Absoluut die beste medisyne vir n moee siel!
Dan moet ek vinnig daar uitkom!!! My sile is moeg!! 🙄
Tyd om weer van Afrika se stof te kom inasem!
Ja… ek dink!! Die Kalahari roep!! 😉
The view looks like a river near my home, Sir.
You are very lucky to stay near something so beautiful!
Hahaha, indeed, around where I live there are so nice scenery!
definitely tranquil 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Hahaha Peaceful in Panic. 🙂 Ironic indeed, but your photo is lovely.
Thank you very much Imelda!
The Kruger Park is an awe inspiring place. Even sitting at a picnic bench watching guinea fowls or hornbills is, for me, peaceful.
You will hear no arguments from us to that opinion Lu! Thank you for paying de Wets Wild a visit!
I’d like to add you guys to my blogroll on The Unwitting Traveller, if that’s ok with you?
Thank you Lu – what a grand honour!
Don’t mention it – you’ve got some wonderful tales to tell 🙂
You are very kind Lu – hope you dont mind that we return the courtesy?
I’d be equally honoured 🙂
Peaceful it looks. I just posted an entry on the rhino poaching in the area – Kruger. Sad story, Do you see any of this when you visit?
The rampant poaching of our rhinos is a terrible scourge lagottocattleya – thank you for helping to create awareness through your post because the only way it will end is if the market that currently buys the rhino horn products in the mistaken believe that it has medicinal or other qualities are enlightened. Thankfully we’ve not come accross a poaching scene in Kruger Park or elsewhere yet.
Ironic indeed that this peaceful scene is located in a lake called Lake Panic.
Actually so metaphorical of life – peace never reigning very long – don’t you think? Thanks for visiting and commenting, we really do appreciate it!
One of my favorite parks. Love remembering how this all looked, smelled etc. So beautiful. You are so lucky. 🙂
Thank you Joey!
