– dis net so mooi!
Baie dankie, Corna!
Amazing collection of photos! The brown hooded kingfisher would be my favourite . No spectacular coloring on this bird but he or she looks like a nice fellow.
Oh they are, unless you are something they’d like to turn into a meal, Anne. Despite their name the Brown-hooded Kingfisher hunts away from water, catching anything from insects to lizards!
Maybe you could send one here. We have an explosion of mosquitoes this summer and we had a nest of barn swallows that ate lots of them but they have flown and gone now.
A marvelous collection, and hooray for the Goliath Heron!
I’m glad we could include one of your favourite birds in the gallery, Babsje!
The Bee-eater image in your header is amazing!
Thank you very much, Brian!
The lilac-breasted roller is a beauty! Great photos, Joubert.
Thank you very much, Lois! I’ll pass your kind comment along.
I love the bee-eater!
Thanks a lot, Kathy! They’re such colourful, energetic birds!
