While the Amphitheatre, which we showed you a few days ago, certainly is Royal Natal’s most awe-inspiring feature, there’s another spot in the Park that few visitors do not spend some time at, and that is The Cascades – a beautiful stretch of the Mahai stream where the water drops over, around and even through some large rocky barriers, just a few minutes walk from the camping area. The rock pools are a delight for people old and young to cool of weary feet and bodies after a tough day’s hiking.

Fabulous cascades – I love mountain streams, and those sandstone cliffs in the background are great too.
Royal Natal doesn’t have any shortage of beautiful scenery, that’s for sure!
Dis asemrowend mooi, Dries!
Maar net een van baie mooi plekkies om te ontdek by Royal Natal, Dina, soos jy natuurlik sal kan be-aam!
Those cascades are beautiful…I think I am due for a waterfall hike! 🙂
Please take us along with you!!!
I could sit there all day…….
That sounds easier than it is, Ilex – at Royal Natal it really is true that there’s so much to see and do and so little time!
Water, unchecked has always been a tourist attraction. We simply cannot imagine the power the beauty and the danger all wrapped up in one bundle.
Very true that humans often underestimate the power of water, Beth, to their detriment!
The walk there from the camp is a lovely one too.
You are absolutely right, Anne! Few strenuous uphills and shade for most of the way – and always within sight and earshot of babbling water!
Beautiful and I can imagine the wonderful sound of the water.

Perfect place for rest and relaxation!
Fabulous, love a good cascade, so calming
Couldn’t agree with you more, Julie!
That place is beautiful! 🙂
Absolutely true!
