We wish all our friends here at de Wets Wild a Merry and richly Blessed Christmas!
We’ve returned safely from our visits to Umlalazi Nature Reserve and Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, and will be spending Christmas Day celebrating one of the cornerstones of our Christian faith with family here in Pretoria.
These pictures of the beautiful scenery in the Hluhluwe section of the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park were taken on our way home yesterday.

We were blessed to be able to comfort more than one family during the holidays, families who had deaths, or debilitating diseases because of terrible epidemics. The hardest to bear was the death of a five month old girl who had bacterial meningitis and then infection after infection after the months and months of antibiotics.
One man, less than 50 years old, had a massive stroke because he let his blood pressure medicine laps two days. A lady passed away with a heart attack.
We felt blessed just to be alive and to be needed.
Such terrible ordeals to have to deal with at a time of year when everyone is in a joyous mood.

Dit was BAIE nat maar verder heerlik omdat dit nie meer so koud is nie.

En dan nog sulke pragtige kleure daarby! Dit het seker jou dag gemaak, Ineke?
Dit het beslis. Ek het al heelwat van hom gehoor Ek het dadelik opgesoek om te sien watter voëltjie dit was omdat hy heeltemaal anders gelyk het as die gewone of normale voëls in die tuin.
