Joubert and I had great fun with the jolly baboons at uMkhuze Game Reserve‘s Kumasinga Hide – their fun and games kept us entertained for hours! Just confirmation again of why Kumasinga is one of the best and most popular photographic hides in the country.

Ek is maar bang vir hulle!
En met goeie reg, Aletta! Gelukkig lyk dit darem of uMkhuze se bobbejane nie so bederf geraak het as party ander troppe in die land nie.
Dis verseker!
Great set of pics. Thank you! They appear to have such a sense of humour when playing, wrestling and enjoying themselves together. I agree that Kumasinga is a great hide. Even after spending hours and hours there, we still have to tear ourselves away. I hope that the reserve is not looking too drought-ravaged and that the river is flowing and the main pans are full?
Oops – sorry – I see that your next post addresses this issue!
uMkhuze’s looking beautiful at the moment! Of course, that means there’s less “traffic” at Kumasinga but as these baboons proved there still loads to enjoy there!
Lekerrr … mens hou maar daarvan om hul dop te hou!
Dit moet sekerlik wees omdat ons onsself in hulle sien, Spokie!
What a feast of shots. Each one great fun. I love the buck thrown in for good measure, and the way buck and baboons are indifferent to one another. Thanks for sharing these!
Thanks C! We also noticed how the impalas and nyalas around the waterhole paid absolutely no notice to the baboons causing havoc around them!
Ag kyk net hoe lekker
Groot pret!
These gave me a great chuckle 🤣😆
A running, family joke was to say, “look there’s ….. (family member name) ” when we see any primates.
Glad we could make you smile, Ilex! Baboons absolutely will remind you of many people you know; they are just so human in the social interaction!
Great pictures that must have been so much fun to watch and capture their antics on film
Absolutely, and thank you!
This was wonderful!
Thanks Lois! We felt so too!
I guess they were just monkeying around. 🙂 Looks like fun.

😀
Great fun indeed, for us and them, Janet!
Ek hoor jul kry toe n voelbare aardbewing! Tina sê sy het dit gevoel in Polokwane.
Ek is bevrees ons was op die pad toe die aardbewing (episentrum in Botswana) toegeslaan het en het niks daarvan gewis nie, Ineke…
Just like children always picking on younger and smaller ones. They were very jolly!
You could see the joy on their faces, Ineke!
