Today, we flash back all the way to July 2012 to remember this spectacular leopard encounter near Skukuza in the Kruger National Park

This is our second entry into the 5 Day Black-and-White Photo Challenge. There are only two rules for this challenge:
1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in B&W.
2. Each day invite another blog friend to join in the fun.
“i AM Safari” is the brilliant blog of another of de Wets Wild’s long standing friends, Maurice Hovens. Like us, Maurice and his family loves exploring earth’s wild places. Maurice, we hope you’ll accept our invitation to join the 5 Day Black-and-White Photo Challenge? If not, at least please see this as a token of how much we appreciate your friendship and support!

This is a spectacular image. Fantastic capture.
Thank you very much Jane, high praise coming from as talented a photographer as you 😀
That’s very kind of you. 🙂
Ja… hang daai vergrooting voor in die huis… net binne die voor deur! 😉
Miskien skrik n paar ontydige gaste groot genoeg om die pad te vat!
Goeie plan! 😛
Okay, that leopard picture needs to be enlarged, framed and put on a wall! 😀
Wow Linda, do you really think so!? Thank you very much!
Oh, yes, I do! It’s gorgeous! 😀
Sjoe – ek dink dit is die stunning-ste foto wat ek nog van ‘n luiperd gesien het. Nooit gedink dit sou so lyk in B&W.
Baie dankie Spokie, dis n goot kompliment!
Alla mintag maar dis n mooi swart en wit foto. Awsome I’m speechless
Baie, baie dankie Ineke!

Absolutely stunning!
Thank you very much Lisa Marie!
A really stunning image. Those eyes are looking straight at your camera. 🙂
Thanks Sylvia! This was undoubtedly the best leopard sighting I’ve had to date, made all the more special by having no other vehicles around to spoil the experience.
Wow! Those eyes!
Captivating, aren’t they, Kathy?
What an amazing photo!
Thank you! 😀
Wow! An impressive photo. I love big cats, and this is so beautiful.
Thanks a lot, Marianne!
Stunning shot and a beautiful conversion.
Thank you Jen!
Beautiful!
Thank you Cyndi!
This photo was made for black & white. Those eyes…..whew! Gorgeous.
I’m also very impressed that especially the look in his eyes translated so well into black-and-white, thanks Lois!
It looks like he (he, yes?) was staring at you, was he? Was he saying, “Are you serious? You want to take my photo before I put my makeup on”. I almost could hear it. 😉
Definitely a big male this one Helen, the female was a lot more shy and only came into the open for very short periods. He on the other hand kept his eye on me, marking his territory and making sure I knew who was in charge of this patch of Africa…
Excellent!!!!! A gorgeous kitty!! Definitely perfect in black and white where all the beautiful detail can be seen. A brilliant shot this one guys!! 🙂
The compliment means a whole lot coming from someone as talented as you, thanks Joey and Marks!
Absolutely wonderful photograph!!!! I think leopards are probably the most beautiful animals…
I don’t think you’ll have many people who’d want to argue with you about that opinion of yours, Ilargia! Thank you for the kind compliment.
Wow! Dis so mooi! Dit werk perfek in swart en wit!!
Baie dankie Aletta!
Planned a visit to the Nagarhole tiger reserves in March. Junior is very excited !!! Hope we spot the big cats.
I can just imagine how excited you all are!
