What a place and space to explore! Love this shot, he looks as though he’s off to scale those mountains 🙂
Thanks Liz!
Yes, a very determined litlle boy, and of course when his legs gets sore, there’s always dad’s back and shoulders to get him home 😉
Just terrific!!!
Thank you very much Barbara!
You knew I would love this, but in addition to the natural beauty, what a lovely path! Is it like that the entire way?

The hiking trails at Golden Gate Highlands National Park are really lovely Janet. The steepest sections and the most popular trails are “paved” with bricks like those shown in the photograph, to minimze the impact of erosion.
Thanks for yet another kind contribution!
Aah…such blissful moment. Joubert sure is a lucky young man to have a ‘playroom’ this big and this gorgeous!
Thanks for visiting with us again Raja!
We’re blessed to be able to spend so much time together as a family in beautiful surroundings like these.
Glorious shot ! – unlimited access to Nature ! What more could a kid want or need ?!
Thanks Margaret-Rose!
What more do any of us need, actually?
But we are filled with responsibilities and the sad traces of reality; while kids are totally untrammeled by either. 🙂
Pity we had to grow up. Damn that Peter Pan!
Die foto vul mens met groot deernis… dankie.
Baie dankie Rondomtaliedraai! Vasberade mannetjie wat ons het 😀
A perfect room for an exploring mind!
Definitely Seeker, definitely!
Oh, the wide open spaces! This is such a beautiful scene…wow!
Nothing like having nature all around you, hey Lois? Thanks for visiting!
He made the photo alive, didn’t he? 😉
Yup Helen, he did! It’s his parents you should be worried about, having to trek into the highlands after him 😉
No walls room, . the best way to grew up with a freedom and Nature care feeling. Marvelous take!
Thanks Jaime! We agree with your sentiments entirely.
What a great photo! So great for the challenge 🙂
Oh thank you Stacy!
My pleasure 🙂
He has the best playground in the whole wide world. 🙂
He’ll definitely agree with you Imelda, thank you!
He is so lucky to have such a large and unspoiled “playground.”
We’re blessed to live in a beautiful country where it is possible to raise a child with a love for nature Annette!
Yes, that’s is a true treasure. So many kids today have little access to green spaces and, therefore, never learn to love Nature. Have you read Richard Louv’s book “Last Child in the Woods: Saving our children from Nature-Deficit Disorder?” Lots of important points about the absolute necessity for kids to experience real nature.
Thanks for the tip Annette – I haven’t read that book yet, but I’ll have a look for it at our local library. It seems to be confirmation of something we de Wets believe in absolutely!
