   Wow! Did the bird bite the snake’s head? I see that I’m not the only one who looked twice at this image!

      That’s the case, Lisa, and just shows how brave the boubou was for the boomslang is one of our most venomous snakes! The injury didn’t seem too bad though, and the snake made its way safely to a different patch of forest.

         I think that’s exactly the reason why we’re so addicted to spending time out in the wilds – you just never know what you might be blessed to see!

         when i lived at the beach it was almost impossible to sleep past dawn.. that childlike sense of ‘what did santa leave on the beach?” always had me dressed and out the door before sunrise.. sometimes i was lucky to catch a nesting turtle in the dim light of dawn, much better than trying to photograph one in the moonlight!
