That means the leopard was still close by! Would vultures try to get to the kill in the trees?
The leopard did appear briefly just before we arrived on the scene, AJ. But the huge crowd of cars that had gathered at the sighting soon scared him off again. I’m sure it returned after dark to complete its meal.
A Bateleur had already spotted the carcass when we saw it and was sitting to the side of the tree, checking it out. Any vultures passing overhead would also have noticed it, I’m sure.
