After nine-and-a-half wonderful days at Shingwedzi in the Kruger National Park we’re back home in Pretoria for a day or two, before heading off on the next leg of our winter holidays. The Saddle-billed stork is my favourite – an unusual take on one.

We were very lucky to find a very habituated pair along the causeway just behind Shingwedzi – I’ve never before been so close to a wild saddle-billed stork, never mind a pair!
