Autumn Highlands Holidays – All Eyes on the Amphitheatre

At Royal Natal in the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, there’s one spectacular natural feature that stands out above all the rest, literally and figuratively, and that is the amazing Amphitheatre – a wall of rock 5km wide with its highest peak, the Sentinel, towering over 1,800m above the Tugela River flowing in the valley below and 3,165m above sea level!

On our first day, the Ampitheatre was completely shrouded in clouds

    It strikes me as one of those landmarks that is so overwhelming, you can’t take your eyes off of it … that your attention would continually be drawn back to it. It looks magnificent in photos, I expect it is even more so in personal.

        Sorry for late answer. No, Not anything they show on tv when it´s about the wildlife and nature! For the most of people I think Africa is plains and acacia trees. I can soon call me expert on the 5 big, Nat Geo Wild sending about them 80% of the time, pity for the channel is good…

      We just can’t ever get enough of it.
      For you it must be some effort to get to Royal Natal though, having to drive around Lesotho to get there? Do you stop over somewhere along the way?
