Fight for dominance

We were fortunate to witness these two plains zebras settling a dispute at Ithala Game Reserve, during our recent summer visit there. They were so close to our vehicle we almost felt every bite and kick they dealt one another…

More from Ithala soon!

Another fabulous post dear de Wets. Superb images. Strangely we just watched a National Geographic series on Africa with wildebeest migration and as you all know the zebras are never far behind. Have a great rest of the week. We’re hoping to go to our own “wilds of Florida” today but so far the weather is not as forecast!!

Wonderful post! Did we tell you, Jean has visited Tanzania, where she was fascinated by zebras (especially their “barking”)? It was from a distance, at Ngorngoro Crater; and closer, in subsequent days. We did not witness this behavior, however. Thanks for this!

Thanks Jane! Yes, we’re very unhurried when it comes to exploring our wild places. And you should see us dawdle when it’s time to leave these beautiful places and head back home to Pretoria!
