Finding and interpreting the signs of the wild can be just as fascinating and rewarding as watching the actual wildlife that were responsible for it!

What looks like a shoeprint is actually an imprint of an elephant’s trunk
Elephants enjoy walking along roads
A gaping hole in a termite mound is a sure sign that it was visited by an aardvark at some stage

Actually, the elephant trunk imprint had me fooled Gemma; I was sure we had found a human shoeprint, but then our ranger-guide on the Olifants Wilderness Trail started laying out the scene for us.

these are so fascinating! Thought of you last night as I watched a You Tube video of a baby elephant falling. He let out a cry and three mama elephants came running (running!!) to his rescue. I just wanted to cry it was so beautiful.

They’re such charismatic animals, aren’t they Lois!? We once watched a little one who couldn’t walk, because he was standing on his own trunk, and too “dumb” to figure out what the problem was 😀
