We visited the Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre today, very near the Swadini resort where we are staying. They offer a guided tour of their facilities, enabling close-up encounters with a variety of raptors, predators and other wildlife.
Visit their website to learn about the wonderful work they do to assist orphaned, injured and poisoned wildlife, and, if you are ever in the vicinity, we can highly recommend the experience.
Ohhh!!! And you were able to touch the cheetah….I am sure your son will be somebody very special…You have to be it when you grow with that kind of experiences…

Thank you for the kind words Ilargia!
We consider ourselves very fortunate as a family to be able to share experiences like these with one another, collecting memories along the way that will last a lifetime.

Oh they’re amazing! I’ll be sure to write about them soon. My daughter is two and loves animals so cannot wait to let her meet the new residents! We go to a place called Hammerton Zoo. Although if describing it I wouldn’t use the word zoo its more a sanctuary, a caring community place. We love it!

How precious and super to hear that they have these rehab centers. Look at you and Joubert. You both look like you’re having the time of your lives!! Fabulous. I’ll just bet that Joubert loved getting so close to the cheetah. Great post dear de Wets:-))

Yep, it was a very enjoyable afternoon at Moholoholo – it was all we could talk about for hours afterwards!
Now we’re waiting at the Orpen Gate for it to open in 15 minutes, for one last daytrip through the Kruger Park! Thinking of you especially 😉
